Energy-Aware Resource Allocation Heuristics For Efficient Management

Question: Describe about the Report on Rocket R Us is a medium level organization that will use Windows Server 2012 Standard R2? Answer: Introduction: This report postulates every configuration and there features implemented by the Rocket R Us, Inc for its Windows network infrastructure. The RRUs Inc provides the Airline services of two areas. The RRUs Inc needs an IT service configuration for the new system. The RRUs Inc use the latest windows server 2012 to met their organizational goal. Here the researcher indentifies that they have a total 90 employees in all departments. These employees are assigning to different departments according to their role. Here the RRUs Inc wants to implement different access level, a security system that allows multiple users but according to their role, they have a different degree of access. In this document, the researcher is researching on above all aspect of IT service. The new features of WS 2012 associated with RRUs Inc: In the new Windows server, 2012 provides many opportunities that help RRUs Ins to solve the fundamental challenges. The RRUs Ins has two branches; these offices share the same cloud storage. Therefore, the RRUs adopting a consistency and integrated approach to configuring the new information system, which is the most efficient way to build the communication channel between the two offices. Here the researcher analyzes the main advantage of the new Windows server 2012 in RRUs Inc. RRUs will use the Windows Server 2012 Standard (Finn et al. 2013). Windows Server 2012 Standard is perfect for the environment consisting of non-virtualization. It provides total WS functionality with two virtual instances. In WS 2012, the RRUs Inc can get a complete virtualization platform. This refers to guarantee service level agreements by utilizing the fully isolated and multitenant feature tools. Windows Server 2012 is capable of eliminating data duplication. It will help the RRUs to reclaim hundreds of GB or often TB of space (Tamura et al. 2013). Approximately 90% of data can be saved using this feature. Thin Provisioning prevents storing data into a virtual machine. Instead, it provides a way of starting small and letting the server increment the control over the system (Finn et al. 2013). Windows installed a new feature, diskless boot in the new windows server 2012 that will help the RRUs to eliminate the excessive storage on the server by removing the unwanted hard disks. However, RRUs does not concern about money, so it can store its cheap disks into a virtual Storage Area Network. SAN is very expensive and its counterpart software parts too. Though not concerned saving money is always good (Hall, 2013). Through site of virtualization, RRUs will try to make their IT environments more efficient. Limited resources are an issue in all the businesses. A virtual machine creates a path for using the best of the limited resources. If there is an Ethernet connection between servers then transferring virtual machine between them is possible (Takano, 2013). Windows Server 2012 enables the user for vitalizing the domain controller. Hyper-V 3.0 allows the organization to migrate customers in Windows Azure. For airline developers, the repetition of tasks is very familiar. Power Shell 3.0 reduces the workload of administrators. It also consists of a feature of carrying out a repeatable task (Eastlake, 2013). Development of servers in RRUs Inc: The development team will deploy four types of servers DHCP, DNS, Database servers, and FTP. Use of Dynamic host configuration protocol is to assign the IP address to a device automatically. DNS will transform the domain name into IP address. It will also assist the server to locate the shared resources and the systems (Oyman Singh, 2012). FTP allows the users to transfer files from the system. HTTP distributes the information related to the company to the World Wide Web. Rockets R Us selects the Standard Windows Server 2012 R2 as it is a medium level organization. The development team will create a core server to skip the installation of the OS in the need of transition between core server and full server. Florida is the main site of the organization. Therefore, the location of the servers will be at Florida. Rocket R Us will follow the automated Windows Server 2012 standard deployment process (Eastlake, 2013). Active Directory domain service of RRUs Inc: Gathering of objects in a Microsoft Active Directory network is termed as Active Directory Domain. References to objects include any one amongst user or group or hardware component or computer. To access information of two different sites of the Rockets R Us, the development team can create two active directory domains for RRUs. For Florida, sub domain name will be www.rocketsrus.com/florida' and for Virginia www.rocketsrus.com/virginia'. The Active Directory Domain will be for everyone to follow the information for individual locations and because of this, reason server needs no Read Only Domain Controller (Drako, 2013). Open server manager in windows server 2012. From the dashboard click on add role and features' then select the installation type. The type should be Role-base or feature-based installation. Windows Server 2012 provides a new feature that deploys roles to remote servers and even to virtual hard disks. Then the selection of Active Directory Domain services process occurs. Feature adding wizard then prompts. Here select features and then click next. Windows Server 2012 also provides the path of adding additional features. Then a screen consisting of the Active Directory Domain Services information and requirements will appear. Information regarding the selections made through the process appears in one window. Then the completion of Active Directory Services prepared. Then configuration in the left navigation tree is required. Select Add a new forest' that is visible on the Deployment Configuration screen (Papapanagiotou, Nahum Pappas, 2012). Then enter the www.rocketsrus.com as root domain name. Then in Domain Controller Options screen, the development team provides a password according to RRUs. Ignore the warning and NetBios automatically fetches the name. In addition, it also offers an alternate name. Do changes or leave it as the directory. If all the distinct process is right then install option should appear. The possibility of applying group policy directly to the user is zero. From windows server 2003 until 2012 windows provides a tool named Rediruser.exe that assists to change the default location of the user's saved information. The device is located in %windir%system32'. Besides, the tools it also help the administrators to handle unassigned accounts through group policy before they place user's information in OU (Huang, Yocum Snoeren 2013). The DNS and DHCP: DHCP scope design needs to define the parameter. In addition, it initiates the frontier of a given DHCP configuration. The parameters of DHCP are lease period, either BootP clients or DHCP client or both type of customer support, the method for carrying DNS dynamic name system and address range. By default, lease duration is eight days but RRUs will not need the lease period to stay active for not more than few hours. DHCP scope serves as the distributor and assigner of IP addresses to the customer (Beloglazov, Abawajy Buyya, 2012). RRUs server will use class B scope 132.255.0.0 with the address range from 132.255.0.1-132.255.255.255. Default subnet mask will be 255.255.0.0. This way RRUs will have a total number of 16384 network addresses. Windows Server 2012 comes with the enhanced DNS registration that allows configuring options based on an entirely good domain name of DHCP clients. RRUs will need a fault tolerance in case something goes wrong. The organization cannot handle system errors, as its system should always be being running for users. For instance, in case one DHCP server fails (primary) then the secondary DHCP server can take the workload (Feeser Marks, 2014). For that, one needs the installation of DHCP on two different nodes.. To use DHCP split scope, for increasing fault tolerance, distribute the load between the two servers SERVER 1 and SERVER 2. SERVER 1 will have the scope of 132.255.0.1-132.255.255.255 with a mask of 255.255.0.0. The prohibition range of scope is 132.255.128.0-132.255.255.255. The exclusion range for SERVER 2 scope is 132.255.0.1-132.127.255.255. DHCP reservation means a particular IP address for a specific machine that will do some significant work (Ivanis, Adamovic Jevremovic, 2013). RRUs will have a computer that will work as a print server. If RRUs thinks that the server will get only one particular address that no other machine can have then, reservation is most needed. Taken as an example, if RRUs the development team set 00:A:FB:12:45:5A MAC addresses as reserved IP then IP address 192.168.0.11 will be reserved for the print server. Before deploying DNS infrastructure, the development team needs to specify the DNS namespace. RRUs will need to have two types of DNS namespace, one external, and another internal. The network of RRUs will be in two different locations. As a result of this, the best solution for the namespace is to deploy internal DNS root (Toshniwal et al.2012). This implementation makes the way of administrating dns data accessible. RRUs will use .com as it signifies commercial business. The FQDN can be www.rocketsrus.com. (Source: Created by author) A local computer accesses the domain name to search for the RRUs related information. Locally cached information passes the query to the DNS client server to resolute. If the resolve of the query name is possible, then the process completes. If not, client querying helps to resolve the name. At first, the favored server parse full name then determines with which domain name it incorporates (Kim Feamster, 2013). After that, it runs an iterative process to the .com' DNS server for gaining a referral to the rocketsrus.com'. Then referral server moves the name to the DNS server for www.rocketsrus.com'. Thus from the second site the handle server procedures works. Deployment of Software: The development team will use Adobe Reader X as the application. Categorization of the process is in eight steps. First, open Group Policy Management. Right click on the www.rocketsrus.com' then click on create a GPO in this domain'. After that, type deploys Adobe Reader in the Name box of GPO type (Drako, 2013). Third, expand Adobe Reader GPO in GPM console. Fourth, Computer Configuration consists of policies option. Then expand software settings. After these processes, select the Software installation' option. The fifth step concerns over opening dialog box. In next process of this step browse to dc01Adobe, click AdbeRdr1000_en_US.msi, and then click open. Make sure assigned option is selected in the window of deploy software. The next part is verification of listing the group policy management. Last part is also verification; it checks that the software is perfectly installed (Papapanagiotou, Nahum Pappas, 2012). File Printer Sharing: Shared scanner and printer access will be needed. In addition, a share of disks and drive volume can happen for the network infrastructure. The development team will only use DFS if the organization wants to access the files stored on the server more rapidly (Banerjee et al. 2012). Here not using DFS in the server makes the network infrastructure less complex. FSMR or File Server Resource Manager indicates a collection of tools. First, install the FSRM. Then click on the add features in FSMR check box and select next two times and Install at the last window. Once installation is complete, in FSMR console click on create file group'. Then include types .docx' and .xlsx' in the create file group type window. Consecutively do the followings. The last part involves opening the event viewer by logging in to SERVER.(Toshniwal et al. 2012). (Source: Created by author) Conclusion: This study concludes that Rocket R Us is a medium level organization that will use Windows Server 2012 Standard R2. The servers for the network infrastructure will be DHCP, DNS, HTTP, Database servers and FTP. Automatic deployment makes the process less repeatable, and the process will help the development team to concentrate on the elaboration of the network. Group policy makes handling the network easily and increases the security of the network. For the development, the team will focus on the servers installed in Florida more. Through Active Directory Domains, the clients can separately go through information related to the different sites. Deploying software in this study will allow the administrator to use the packages continuously with the help of installing and uninstalling the software. The Rocket R Us will use the network for commercial usage so the best name for the domain will be .com'. Internal and external these two will help the organization to provide services and main tain management correctly. References Banerjee, D. N., Paranjape, P. A., Rallapalli, S., Vo, P. T.
